“You Can’t Beat Santa…”(Rush Limbaugh)

So what happened yesterday has left myself and many other Conservatives/Republican’s feeling very down. We saw a strong coalition come out for the President who pushed him pass the challenger Mitt Romney. So the question now has to be why did we lose and what does that hold for the future of the country.  Has America switched from a Center-Right nation and become a Center-Left one? If so how long can we maintain the European welfare model? There is no doubt that much of President Obama’s base was part of the moocher class, as Any Rand would have called them.  President Obama’s message was a small message basically promising free this and free that.  Well we all know nothing given by the government can be free, someone has to pay.  No society has the power to last where the primary economic philosophy is “take from the rich and give to the poor”. It has failed everywhere it has been tried and will continue to fail. Today’s Democratic Socialist societies are the modern day version of the “let them eat cake” philosophy,by giving the people “free” stuff they won’t care that their nation is in decline. This way of governing only works for a certian period of time…and it’s inevitable conclusion was best phrased by Margaret Thatcher’s comment about Socialism: “The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money”.

The other major issue with this campaign as I see it was another mush head Republican was at the head of our ticket. The GOP “elites” who keep telling us that only a mush head “moderate” can win. These people like Karl Rove refuse to learn from the lessons of the past laid out before us by Ronald Reagan. Reagan was unashamed Conservative and he pushed his Conservative beliefs, but Rove wishes to tell us the era of Reagan is gone and only a big spending moderate mush head can win. If this is true then it may truly be over for America. Conservatives who believe in the individual, in property rights, and a true and just rule of law are not an outdated group…and if we are is that really an America we want to live in? Now the other issue is we need not only run Conservative candidates but we have to have articulate and intelligent ones.  We need people who can capture the energy of the GOP as Sarah Palin did in 2008, but we need it in an individual who is smart, articulate and can appeal to the Independents  and Reagan Democrats. If we keep having mush and bland people running for office, be it the House, Senate or President we will continue to lose.

In conclusion we must be prepared in the future for the “you can’t beat Santa” approach of the Democrats. We must understand that they will promise the moon to win elections. This campaign has once again shown that you can be a totally failed candidate and still win by “killing” the character of your opponent, scare the crap out of the voters (i.e. Mediscare/and he will take away your abortions/pill), and out and out bribery (which man as President will keep the checks flowing). In four years from now the GOP’s candidate will once more be running against Santa Clause and this time we must figure out how to win…

Keep Hope Alive my friends…for without it we are truly loss!

Run Mr. Cain Run!!!

On Saturday 5/21/11 Mr. Herman Cain made it official that he is running for the GOP nomination for President.  This is a great thing for the GOP as Mr. Cain brings in new and interesting ways of thinking to some very major problems.  I hope Mr. Cain makes it to the finish win, lose or draw the GOP needs this man in the race.  As of right now he is my candidate, but that could change as I see the rest of the field.  Yes Mr. Cain has hit a few stumbling blocks but what candidate won’t?  The true test of any candidate will be how do they deal with those trip ups, and to use those mistakes to their advantage in the future.

So for now I gladly say Run Mr. Cain Run!

Forest Park Vs. Boobies!!! Let the Smack Down Begin!

The venue Forest Park, Ga the activity?  A rousing protest….Breast Feeding Vs. Forest Park!  One hundred plus women gathered outside of City Hall to protest the new law that bans moms from breastfeeding their children above the age of 2 years old.  The City Council has decided that any breastfeeding beyond the age of 2 should now be considered Public Nudity and thus must be stopped in there ever vigilant fight against all things nude!

City Manager John Parker has set out on his crusade to rid the world of naked women tata’s. The question is where does he stand on hairy man boobs? Is he Pro or Against?  I for one do not find the act of breastfeeding to be anywhere near public indecency but heck who am I to judge?  But Parker on the other hand has no problem judging.  He said the following to Atlanta WSB TV about the new ordinance : “It sets up a process whereby we can try to control nudity throughout the entire city,” Parker said .  You know its funny I didn’t realize Forest Park had a huge nudity problem.  Whats going on there?  Do the nudist come out of the Mountain’s and run in the streets?  Do you college age girls flock there for Girls Gone Crazy Forest Park Style?  Is nudity really a major issue in little bitty Forest Park?  If so why am I not there?  Just Kidding!!! (Trying to have a little fun).

As for you Mr. Parker the world has bigger issues then rather or not Jr. gets his 3 o’clock mommy snack.  Stop trying to push your weird issues of nudity on other people.  If you don’t want to see mommy’s jugs while feeding build some kind of breastfeeding stands where they can go or leave these women alone.

Tornado’s Attack on the Nation…

In the past Month and half we have seen several severe outbreaks of deadly tornadoes.  First my beloved Ttown (Tuscaloosa, AL) was nearly wiped of the Map.  Here in my home state of Georgia, Ringgold too was nearly removed from this Earth.  And today we wake to the sad news of Joplin, Missouri being devastated by a new killer Tornado.  With the death rate still rising and injured still being counted we need to pray for these besieged souls that they may find peace in the hands of the Lord.

God Bless America and the Victoms both Alive and Dead!

May that man Burn in Pig Fat for all time!!!

Why is Life Becoming More Expensive?

What is the main reason for rising cost of all goods that we use these days? It’s the ever growing cost of gas. President Obama’s policy on “energy independence” is a joke. If he was serious he would not be continuing to block expanding domestic drilling. We will never have energy independence without drilling here at home.

As a result we are now so dependent on the rest of the world that all we can really do is hold on tight and hope for the best. And the best is not happening right now. With continued dependence on foreign sources of oil and with add cost of ethanol we need to be ready for $5 gas by summer time.

Its Time to Exercise Your Power! Go Vote!!!

Today November 2, 2010 is the day that the People get to exercise their Power over their Government.  As a people we must go out there and do the simplest of Civil task and that is Vote!  For 2 years now the people have been fighting with their Government which  has completely ignored them, well now its our turn to ignore the politicians by kicking them out of office.

We must put into office as many Conservative Republicans as possible at all levels of Government.  Some of the most important positions we must have Conservative victories in are the Senate, the House, Governors Races, the States Atterny Generals Office and the Secretary of State positions.

Why are these the must win positions?

First off the races for Senate and Congress are absolute must win to slow down and reverse what this President has done to the nation.  We must get people in who will fight to Repeal Obamacare and when the President veto’s that they must fight to downsize it by cutting the funding and refusing to staff it.  We need Conservatives to fight the Liberals and RINO’s in the Congress to control the Taxation and Spending that the President wishes to implement in the next two years.  Finally we need politicians who will kill any and all attempts to create a European styled Cap and Trade (aka Cap and Tax) Program which will kill business in this Country!

What makes the Governor’s Races so important?  Besides setting the tone for a State and having the power to control a States spending through Veto power, it will be the Governors who are responsible for drawing up the new Election maps.  Its called gerrymandering where parties get to create political districts that benefit that party.  While I prefer it to be as close to a non-partisan districts both sides have used the practice to benefit their own party and the States would be better off if we Limit the power of Liberals everywhere.  The other main reason for voting Conservative for Governor right now is we need Governor’s who will stand up and fight the Federal Government.  We need people like Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona who will fight for their States right to enforce laws that the Feds refuse to enforce.  We also need Governors who will stand up against Obamacare…Obamacare is the greatest attack on State’s Rights since the State’s lost the ability to appoint Senators for themselves.

Finally the State’s Secretary of State and the State’s Atterny Generals are must win.  We need Conservatives to take the Secretary of State positions to ensure no more theft of offices happen like what happened with Al Franken in Minnesota.  The Secretary of State is in charge of enforcing election laws and we need people who will fight to make sure that only those who are allowed to vote, vote.  The other position is Atterny General with the continued assault of State’s Rights by the Obama Administration we need true believers in Individual and State liberty to stand up to this out of control White House.  We need Atterny Generals who will not be afraid to sue the Federal Government over steps its authority like it has with telling Arizona it CANNOT enforce federal Immigration Law by means of its State passed law, and AG’s who will stand up against Obamacare and its unconstitutional mandates!

This election is crucial for the fate of our nation.  It will determine if we continue to follow the failed Fabian Socialism model of Europe or we begin to return to a limited for of Government whose job is protecting our Liberty’s not reducing them.  If the Democrats slip by today and hold on to both branches of the Congress then don’t be surprised by more of the same failed Obama Economic Policy’s being shoved down the throats of the American People.

Right now is the time when the Power of Politics shift from the hands of the few elected politicians to the Hands of the People…Today we get to cast our vote and that vote will be one for Individual Freedom or Collective Failure.

Remember Vote Conservative where ever you can and vote to kick out as many Obama Democrats as you can!

I leave you today with this quote:

“Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.”
Alexis de Tocqueville

Is a Third-Party Wave Coming in 2012???

If you ask me “If a third-party wave is coming in 2012″ I would have to answer that in two parts.  One is it possible for  a third-party to make a succesful run for the Presidency.  Two can there be a succesful wave of the third-party’s in the Congress?

My answer to the First question is no…there will be no succesful run by a third-party candidate for the office of President.  If a strong third-party is formed on either side of the aisle the party most closely aligned to that third-party will lose the Presidency.  For example the second most succesful third-party candidate for the Presidency was Ross Perot, but thanks to Perot’s success with his Reform Party he cost the Republicans not one but two elections against former President Bill Clinton.  If Perot’s message had not been so succesful President George H.W. Bush would have won his re-election against Clinton.  Now the second election I know Perot hurt then Republican challenger Bob Dole in his bid to unseat the sitting President Clinton, wether or not Dole could have beaten Clinton without Perot in the race I’m not sure.  Looking at the results from that race President Clinton had 49.2%, Bob Dole 40.7% and Mr Perot had 8.4% of the votes that year, if we assume that all 8.4% of the votes would go to Mr. Dole that would have made it President Clinton 49.2% and Mr. Dole 49.1% of the total vote.  This would be a statistical dead heat and of course the election would have been decided not on the percent of votes but what percent of the Electoral College each man would have won.

The most succesful third-party attempt came from President Teddy Roosevelt and his Bull Moose Party back in 1912.  Roosevelt actually beat the sitting Republican President 9 out of the  12 states that were using the Primary System at the time.  Roosevelt was the clear winner of the Republican Primary’s but Taft and his people were able to gain a large enough majority in the Republican National Committee to get him appointed as the party’s candidate.  With the “voice of the people” denied Roosevelt and his supports broke from the Republican Party to run as the Bull Moose Party.  That year’s election resulted in Democrat Woodrow Wilson being elected, former President Teddy Roosevelt coming in second, and for the first time the Republican party’s candidate came in third.  So looking at history one thing seems pretty clear to me and that is if a former and popular President cannot run third-party and win it is an almost impossible situation to happen.  The only reason President Wilson won office was because Roosevelt and Taft split the Republican vote enough to allow a untied Democratic voting block to win.

Now for the second part of the question…Could we see a third-party wave victory in the Congress?  I have to say I can see one way that this maybe what happens.  If the Republican Party takes back one or both branches in the Congress and they fail to live up to their promises to slow down the juggernaut spending in Washington DC I would not at all be surprised if the voters punish both the Democrats and the Republicans by voting in an unusually large number of third-party candidates.  The first challenge any party must overcome (and this includes the two main parties) is getting on the election ballot.  Each State has its own rules regulating how you get on the ballot, for example in Georgia you must submit a petition with 5% of the registered voters to be placed on the ballot.

So lets assume for the moment that enough candidates can get past these regulations and find themselves on the ballot I believe that we could then see a strong protest vote by the people against both parties.  If these parties run on one or two issues, such as reducing spending and getting people back to work the people may choose to risk their vote on something different.  If this happens though and a large number of third-partiers win how many would it be?  I’m just going to offer up a guess based on nothing but my own opinion but I would not be shocked to see some where in the neighborhood of 12-30 seats in the House and 1-3 in the Senate.  I believe that we could see a larger number of House seats be temporarily lost to a third-party because of the sheer number of seats that are up for election, plus the fact that the winners would not serve more than two years.  In the Senate I believe people would be less likely to trust a third-party candidate to serve in such a long-term seat of power, and thus we could see a much lower number voted into power in the Senate.

If a third-party “wave” was to come in 2012 I believe it would be a temporary political statement made by the People, but it would be an important one that would offer up a warning to both parties to get their political acts together.  If at anytime a third-party wave happens it will be a temporary “fluke” of history…i.e. a protest vote.  The third-party’s would have to find a home in one of the two parties if they are to have any influence over committees and bills that are brought forward for a vote.  They would need good relations with one party or the other if they are going to get anything through themselves.  Ultimately the people would become disillusioned with a third-party because they would find that they have no significant influence over how business gets done in Washington.

What I believe is far more likely to happen is a continued house cleaning in both political parties.  The TEA Party influence will likely still be there in 2012 and more RINO’s will find themselves on the outside looking in.  As for the Democrat Party sooner or later the Conservative Democrats will find their own TEA Party movement to clean out some of the Leftist in their party.  In the end the two parties will actually grow closer together not because they have moderated their views, but because the views of the majority of Americans are more closely inline with one another then what the two parties are currently giving us.

Will there be a Third-Party wave??? I do not know but if one does happen it will be a short-lived but historical moment in American politics.

A list of some of the third-party’s in the US past and present:

Constitution Party; The Green Party of the United States; Libertarian Party; American First Party; American Independent Party; American Reform Party; Boston TEA Party; Communist Party USA; Freedom Socialist Party; Green Party USA; Labor Party; Modern Whigs Party; National Socialist Movement; Socialist Party; U.S. Marijuana Party; and the World Socialist Party of the USA.
